Red Bean Bun

One time I went to a Chinese restaurant and I ordered red bean buns.
At that moment, I thought it would also be a nice snack for the tea time,
with Chinese tea or green tea.
So I would give it a try and make my own version of red bean bun.

Ingredients

Dough:
- Wheat flour 200g
- Hot water 150ml

Red bean filling:
- Red bean 200g
- Caster sugar 80g
- Oil 4 tablespoon
- Hot water 900 ml
- Cold water 500ml

- Oil 2 tablespoon

Let's get started with the filling.
First of all, put the red beans and 500ml cold water in the bowl and let it rest for an hour.

Remove the water. Put the red beans and 900ml of hot water in a pan.
Cook it on low heat for around 1 hour 10 minutes till it's soft.

Sieve the red bean and put it in a pan.
Stir it with a spoon until it's almost dry.
Put the caster sugar and 4 tablespoon of oil in the paste.
Stir it till again.

Put the paste in a bowl.
Cool it down and put it in the fridge.

Hope you can still follow the steps.
These are the ingredients for making the red bean bun.

Sieve the wheat flour.

After that, pour 150ml hot water and mix it.
(Be careful!! It's HOT!! )
Whala.. This would be the result of making the dough.
Foil the bowl and let it rest for 20 minutes.

Take the dough out and roll it.

Cut the dough into 8-10 pieces.
Roll the dough and smash it.
Roll the red bean paste into balls and put it in the middle of the dough.

Fold the dough.
Smash the dough like the buns in the picture below.

Time to bake the buns.
Heat the pan.
Put 2 tablespoon of oil and the buns in the pan.

Bake the buns till the dough has turned into gold brown.
Take them out of the pan and enjoy!

Note:
- For the sweetness of the red bean paste, you may put more of less caster sugar
- You may also change the filling, like sweet potato paste.

It really looks delicious! If I have the chance I would also make some red bean buns.
