Onion Pork Chop In Tomato Sauce

To make someone happy, is not difficult at all. At least I know how to chear up my fiancé after a heavy working day. He likes sweet and sour sauce a lot, like ku lo yuk (sweet & sour pork with bell pepper and pineapple). Instead of deep frying the pork, I pan fried the pork chop this time, with onion tomato sauce.

Ingredients (4 servings)

4 pork chop
3 fresh tomato
1 onion (slices)
3 cloves garlic (finely chopped)

4 tbs oil
10 g butter

Marinade pork chop
4 cloves garlic (smashed)
7 slices ginger
3 tbs soy sauce
2 tbs oyster sauce
2 tbs Chinese wine
1 tbs sugar
1 tbs cornstarch
1 tbs oil
2 tsp salt
Pepper

Sauce
70 g tomato paste
2 tbs worcester sauce
2 tbs oyster sauce
2 tbs white wine
2 tbs soy sauce

2 tbs sugar
2 tsp salt
Pepper
400 ml water

Method

1. Wash the pork chop and dry with kitchen paper.

2. Tenderise each pork chop by pounding with the flat blade of the knife in criss- cross on both sides.

3. Marinade the pork chop and put in the fridge for minimum 3 hours.

4. Cut the tomato in small pieces.

5. Preheat the pan with 2 tbs oil.  Pan fry the pork chop (remove garlic and ginger) till golden brown. Put the pork chop on a plate.

 6. Preheat the pan with butter and oil. Add garlic and onion.

7. Add tomato cubes.

8.  Cook for 2 minutes and add the sauce.

9. Add pork chop in the sauce. Put the lid on and simmer over medium heat for 30 minutes.

Serve the pork chop with rice, green beans and cherry tomatoes (or other vegetable).

When it was dinner time, I looked at his face and I knew I had completed my mission again :D
