Recently it's getting hotter in The Netherlands and what is better to have a scoop of ice-cream at home. So this idea crossed my mind: let's pop up my ice- cream with some home made garnish- caramelized walnuts! You can serve it in dessert or salad, even you eat it right away, you won't get enough of it :D
100g walnuts
40g sugar
salt
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 165˚C.
2. Place a baking sheet on the baking tray.
3. Spread the walnuts on the baking sheet.
4. Bake the walnuts for 10 minutes.
5. Heat the sugar in a pan and keep stirring with a spoon over medium heat.
6. Once the sugar has melted and turned into caramel, add a pinch of salt.
7. Add the walnuts to the pan and stir the walnuts till they are coated with the caramel.
8. Spread the walnuts quickly on the same baking sheet with the baking tray.
9. Let the walnuts cool down.
Garnish your ice- cream with this amazing walnuts, enjoy!
Note
* Work carefully with the caramel, it's hot.
* Keep the caramelized walnuts in a container.
* Serve chopped or whole walnuts in dessert or salad.
