What shall we eat tonight? It has to be easy and fast.
What about Japanese omurice? It's fried rice wrapped in an omelet.
Serve it with a salad and in no- time you'll have a yummy dinner ready to serve.
Ingredients (2 servings)
250g steamed rice
150g chicken breast
5 mushrooms
80g peas
4 eggs
1/2 onion
1 clove garlic
Oil for frying
Extra ketchup for garnish
Seasoning
2tbs ketchup
1tbs salt
1tbs sugar
2tbs chinese rice / white wine
1tbs chicken powder
pepper
Marinade chicken
1/2tsp salt
1/2tsp pepper
Method
1. Cut the chicken breast into small pieces and marinade it in a bowl.
2. Chop the onion and garlic finely.
3. Cut the mushrooms in slices.
4. Season the peas with 1/2 tsp salt.
5. Heat 2tbs oil in a wok.
6. Add onion and garlic and bake for 1 minute.
7. Sauté the chicken breast for 5 minutes.
8. Add the mushrooms and cook until softened.
9. Add peas and seasoning, give it a stir.
10. Add steamed rice and stir-fry.
11. Put the rice in a bowl.
12. Beat 2 eggs in a bowl.
13. Add a pinch of salt and mix it.
14. Heat 2tbs oil in a pan and pour the eggs in the pan.
15. Spread the eggs round.
16. Turn off the heat. Place the fried rice in the middle of the omelet.
17. Fold the omelet.
18. Flip the omurice on a plate.
19. Garnish the omurice with ketchup in zigzags.
20. Serve the omurice with salad.
Note
* Prepare the steamed rice one day or a couple of hours before use.
* Repeat step 12-17 for the other serving.
